NAMI Basics is a program offered for any parent or caregiver of a child or adolescent living with mental illness. The program is taught by trained parents who have had similar experiences with their own children. This is a NAMI signature program.
Course elements include: The trauma and impact of mental illness for the child and family, the biology of mental illness, reaching accurate diagnosis, the latest research, and overview of treatment options. This course is offered free of charge and consists of 6 classes.
